PAZHAYANGADI: Youths saved the life of an eight-year-old girl after a chewing gum got stuck in her throat at Pallikkara in Pazhayangadi, Kannur. The incident happened Tuesday evening. Education Minister V Sivankutty shared the footage of it on his Facebook page. The youths gave her first aid after she was found choking when the chewing gum got stuck in her throat. The youths were talking to each other on the roadside in front of a vegetable shop. The CCTV footage that emerged shows a girl standing on the other side of the road with a cycle. She was seen putting a chewing gum on her mouth. However, after some time, the girl had some difficulty and immediately sought help from the youths. One of the youths was seen giving her first aid.
Many came forward praising the youths after the video was circulated. The intelligence of the girl in seeking help from the youths and the youth handling the matter without losing his presence of mind were both praised.
Many had commented and some of it were 'along with school education, some seniors should be given this kind of knowledge', ‘youths saved a life. Thank you', 'a very proud moment'.
