LDF candidate Sunitha's son dies in KSRTC accident; Muralya Dairy employee's death on his way to work

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man who fell from his bike after being hit by a passerby and fell on the road was crushed under a KSRTC bus. The tragic end was met by Abhijith (23), son of Sunitha, LDF candidate for Mandapathinkadavu ward in Ottasekharamangalam gram panchayat.

The incident took place near the Amachal Muslim Mosque at 5.45 am. Abhijith was an employee of the Muralya Dairy in Kattakada. He was going to the dairy from his home. The bike's handle hit the hand of a woman walking along the side of the road. The bike fell to the left side of the road, but Abhijith fell under a bus coming from the opposite direction. The rear wheel of the bus ran over his body.

The initial conclusion is that the accident was caused by the bus's headlights hitting Abhijith's eyes and causing blurred vision. The bus was going from Kattakada depot to Plampazhinjhi. Although people gathered following the accident, Abhijith remained on the road for about an hour. The body was shifted to the Medical College Hospital after the police arrived and completed the procedures. The woman who was injured after being hit by the bike was admitted to a private hospital in Kattakada. CCTV footage of the accident has also been released.

Abhijith's funeral was conducted in his home compound at 4 pm after the postmortem. Father: Late Chandran, a native of Ottasekharamangalam Kunnanad. Brother: Sreejith.
