V D Satheesan to use white Innova Crysta instead of Pinarayi's black car

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Designated Chief Minister V D Satheesan will replace the black Innova cars used by former chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The two black Innova cars purchased from the police fund were taken back by the police. After the oath-taking, the public administration department requested the tourism department to provide white Innova Crysta cars for all ministers, including the chief minister. However, if the minister handling the home affairs requests, the black car will be released again.

Meantime, V D Satheesan directed top police officials not to sanction additional security during his journey. It is reported that he has also instructed not to trouble the public while traveling. Satheesan gave the security-related instructions during a meeting with top police officials. He refused police security and escort. However, the police officials informed that it was mandatory.

Former chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan was provided Z Plus category security. Additional security was provided considering the life-threatening situation. Pinarayi Vijayan was travelling in a large convoy of seven vehicles. The police team consisted of thirty to forty police officers. He was also accompanied by a striker force of commandos.
