Only hours left for the announcement; V D Satheesan leaves for capital city with daughter, K C continues in Delhi
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With only hours left to announce the chief minister of Kerala, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal and his family continue at their home in Delhi. It is reported that a decision will be taken on whether to come to Kerala after the announcement. K C was at home when the crucial meeting between Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge took place yesterday. There were reports that KC would be summoned by Kharge, but that did not happen.
Meantime, Chief Minister V D Satheesan has left for Thiruvananthapuram by road. His daughter Unnimayaya and his niece Ammu are with Satheesan. Ramesh Chennithala is at his house in Vazhuthakadu, Thiruvananthapuram.
Although a decision has been taken on the new chief minister of the state, Rahul Gandhi has not called the leaders and informed the decision. No one has been informed about the chief minister. The names have not been given to the constituent parties either. The Congress is presently getting ready to accept letters from everyone which has to be given to the governor.
All activists owing allegiance to KC, RC and VD factions are excited. The KC group is confident of the support of the MLAs. VD faction says the last round of talks helped them. Their hopes are on the stance of the constituent parties and public support. However, the Chennithala group is pinning its hopes on Sonia.
