PALAKKAD: Relatives of the policeman, who died falling from a running train, have come out alleging that there is conspiracy behind the unnatural death. It is said that Kumar, a Dalit, had been subjected to caste discrimination in the Kallekad A.R police camp which eventually led to his death.

According to the relatives, Kumar was mentally tortured by some of his senior officials. His wife Sajini said that she is planning to request the Chief Minister to investigate the issue. Kumar, who hailed from Attapadi, died two days before when he fell from a running train. However, the Police officials have claimed that the allegations are baseless and false.

Earlier, another policeman belonging to the Dalit community had resigned after reportedly undergoing mental torture from senior officials. The policeman, named Rathish, claimed that he was often treated like a slave and was denied leave several times. He had also sent a complaint against four officials including a Sub Inspector.
