Actor Santhosh K Nair dies in accident, last seen in Mohiniyattam

PATHANAMTHITTA: Film and serial actor Santhosh K Nair (66) lost his life in an accident. He died Tuesday morning at 6.30 am in an accident that happened at Enathu in Adoor. He has acted in more than 100 films.

Santhosh and his wife Subhashree were in the car when the accident happened. Police said the vehicle heading towards Kottayam lost control and collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction. The actor was in the driver’s seat and may have dozed off. Soon after the accident, the two were admitted at a private hospital in Adoor. The doctors said the actor suffered a cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment. The actor’s death was confirmed at 8 am. The doctors said that his wife’s injuries are not serious. The lorry driver also sustained injuries. Santhosh has acted as a villain, comedian, supporting actor and actor in films and serials. He started his film career with the film 'Ithu Njangalude Katha' directed by P G Viswambharan. The actor was last seen in Mohiniyattam, which is still running in theatres. He was junior to actor Mohanlal in MG College. Santhosh hails from Thiruvananthapuram. He is the only son of retired headmaster C N Kesavan Nair and P Rajalakshmi Amma, also a retired teacher. He did his schooling at St Joseph's Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram. He has two sisters who are doctors.
