Unleashes violence in wife’s house with knife and beer bottle; youth, aides held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thumba police have arrested the accused in the case of attacking his wife and her family with deadly weapons following a family dispute, along with his accomplices who helped him to hide. The arrested are Ananthu Shaji (23) of Kadakampally Thoppil House, who is on the rowdy list at Pettah station, Anu V S alias Tapper Unni (34) of Chakkai and Shankar S alias Kannan (44) of Vilappilsala.

Ananthu, who was not in good terms with his wife, barged into her house in Attipra and injured his wife, her parents and sister using a knife, beer bottle and wire rod. Police said that he aimed to kill his wife. Anu and Shankar were taken into custody for providing accommodation and other assistance to Ananthu, who went into hiding after the crime. There are eight assault cases pending against Ananthu in Thumba and Pettah stations. The others arrested were in the rowdy list earlier. The three arrested from Nedumangad were produced in the court and remanded.
