'Green Internal organs, villian not watermelon'; Mystery deepens in Mumbai family death
MUMBAI: The initial forensic report brought more clarity into the death of four family members in Mumbai. It was initially believed that the cause of death was poisoning from watermelon. However, doctors ruled out the chances of Watermelon being the villain and revealed that the internal organs of the victims were found to be green, a sign of severe poisoning. The victims were identified as Mumbai natives Abdullah Dokadia, his wife Nasreen, and their children Zainab and Ayesha.
Forensic examination found that the internal organs, such as the brain, heart, and intestines, of the four had turned green. Doctors clarified that organs do not usually change colour in this way due to food poisoning. Meanwhile, it was also reported that traces of morphine were found in Abdullah's body. This has raised doubts of an accident or another unknown mystery behind the family's death.
The family, who had eaten chicken pulao with guests at a party held at their house in South Mumbai the other day, ate watermelon at around 1 am after everyone else had left. The next morning, all four of them fell ill due to vomiting and diarrhoea, and were rushed to the hospital, but their lives could not be saved. The police have intensified their investigation into the incident after the preliminary forensic report was released.
