Suresh Gopi keeps his promise; gifts auto to Ganga
THODUPUZHA: Union Minister Suresh Gopi gifted an auto to a woman who had traveled alone nearly 130 kilometers on a two-wheeler to meet him. The beneficiary, Ganga Rishikesh from Muttukad, Bison Valley, received the vehicle from the minister.
Ganga has been supporting her family for more than two decades by working as a daily wage laborer in cardamom plantations. Her husband, Rishikesh, a former bus driver, has been unable to work for the past 13 years due to some illnesses.
Ganga attended the Kalunku Souhruda Samvadam held at Moolamattom, where she got an opportunity to talk to Suresh Gopi on September 30, 2025. She had traveled nearly 130 kilometers alone on her two-wheeler to reach the event. She told the union minister that she had no other reliable source of income and that if she gets an auto, it would greatly help her livelihood. The minister soon promised to buy her one.
Ganga got a phone call from the minister’s personal assistant a few days ago informing her that the payment had been made to the company and that she could collect the auto from the showroom in Adimali.
Suresh Gopi also shared the news of handing over the auto via a post on Facebook.
