THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan stepped forward responding to the statement claiming that, while serving as chief minister, he attended actor Innocent's funeral accompanied by a convoy of 55 vehicles and 560 police personnel. Pinarayi said that it is condemnable for someone like Major Ravi to engage in such cheap publicity. He also stated that action would be taken against those who created and shared fake videos related to it.

‘BJP leader Major Ravi's statement that the then chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan arrived to pay his last respects to Innocent with an escort of 55 vehicles and 560 police personnel is contrary to the facts. It has also been noticed that some profiles have also made and shared fake videos.

The real footage of paying respects to the actor was seen in the media. If anyone examines it, this baseless fabrication can be understood. However, it is condemnable for someone like Major Ravi to carry out such cheap propaganda. Necessary legal action will be taken against such activities being spread in the new media against the facts,' the press release said.

The social media campaign against Pinarayi intensified after Chief Minister V D Satheesan arrived to pay his last respects to late actor Salim Kumar yesterday. In response, left supporters released real pictures of Pinarayi Vijayan arriving to pay his last respects to Innocent on social media.
