However, due to the delay in sighting the moon crescent, Eid will be celebrated on the 28th. Accordingly, some states have declared public holidays on the 27th and 28th.
However, there is ambiguity on whether the banks will function on these two days. Bank holidays for Bakrid vary from state to state. Banks in some states have declared a holiday on May 27. In other places, May 28 is also a holiday.

Bank holidays will be observed on May 27 in the following states: Kerala, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh.
